We had another busy day in Grade 2!

Today we had a chance to work on some writing and share what we wrote. There are definitely some creative writers in our class as there were several different types of writing happening today including personal narratives(writing about self), stories, and even a few songs! This leads in perfectly to some work we will start next week looking at and writing some poetry.

In math, we answered some basic addition and subtraction facts questions to get us warmed up and then worked on a word problem related to what we have learned about the NWMP. Did you know that each Mountie received a rationed amount of meat, grains, and potatoes and that to supplement their meals they sometimes went hunting? What do you think they were hunting for here on the prairies???

We have been working on some research using PebbleGo and some of us were wanting to explore some of the other amazing things within this site. To access this and other resources from home you  just need to visit LearnAlberta Online Reference Centre and use  username:  LA06 password: 4105
From this link, you can also access great resources like BookFlix and the Nat Geo Kids Virtual Library :)

In Science, we watched Bill Nye's Buoyancy video which we will review tomorrow.
