Measuring Temperature

Highlights from our learning today:

  • Mrs. Seymour's class beat the standing record in Place Value I Have Who Has... the previous record was 1:51 by the Grade 4s, and it's now held by our class, at 1:38 (Ibrahim)

  • in a science experiment we learned that a thermometer can go all the way up to 50 C when it's put in hot water (Myles)

  • we read a book called The Invisible Boy (Mila)
  • we played drums and went on the risers in music (Aubrey)
  • we typed the best copy of our winter poem  (Ibrahim)
  • in Phys. Ed we played Fitness Tag (Celina)
Tomorrow is Compliment Day! Here are some examples of compliments that "stick"
  • You make me laugh!
  • You are the best teacher!
  • You are very kind!
  • You are so funny!
A compliment that fades (doesn't stick) is:
  • I like your earrings/shirt/necklace/feet
  • I like your haircut
Tomorrow we'll be trying to "catch" people saying compliments (that stick!) to each other. We're thankful for such a wonderful class!
