Boats that... float??

Some of our students are learning the hard way that we need to dress appropriately for outside. Please review this website (https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/forecasts/school-day/alberta/new-brighton-school) for tips on how to dress appropriately. Please LABEL as much as possible, as many students have similar belongings... Feel free to send a spare set of (labelled) gloves and/or socks.

Highlights from our learning today:

  • now I know that there's a type of box that sinks, cardboard (Kohde)
  • in math, we learned 10 place blocks and 1 place blocks and we got foam dice and we used it and we connected two numbers to make 2-digit numbers and then we used 10 and 1 blocks to connect them into a 2-digit number (Zaeem)
  • I learned with my partner building the boat, we improved our design by compromising and making a lid (Avery)

Tomorrow we are excited for Grade 2 intramurals at lunch for those who are interested!

Double-Digit Addition:

I can construct an object that will float and move forward.

Giving feedback to our peers on our designs

And now we build!

A few of us tested and tweaked along the way:

Tomorrow we will test and tweak some more!
